Now PzDB “leaves the nest” of the Poser Library and becomes a true 3D Content Management system,  able to handle all the files used throughout your CGI pipeline.

Index New File Types:
We’ve more than doubled the kinds of files you can index with PzDB. Now, in addition to Poser Libraries you can also catalog Poser Scenes and DAZ Studio Scenes, as well as Bryce, Carrara, Hexagon, Lightwave and Vue Scenes and objects, OBJ, DXF, FBX and Collada objects, all standard bitmap formats (even Photoshop layers and brushes) and Python and DS scripts. (click here for a full list of file types) And if that's not enough, you can request others!

Index new Folders:
Now you can catalog any folder on your computer! Anywhere you keep 3D content or source material. Even index files on other computers across your local network.

Use PzDB with any Windows Program:
PzDB now works directly with any program that receives standard Windows (OLE) Drag-and-Drop. This means that Poser 8 and DAZ Studio no longer require the pRPC middleware. You can just drag any Item from your PzDB database into any program you want! For programs that don’t support Drag-and-Drop you can use the “Copy Path” button and PzDB still supports pRPC for Poser versions 7 and earlier.

What else is new in PzDB 1.2:
It's the fastest PzDB yet! Search result pop on the screen faster than before and we've more than doubled the speed of our indexing system.

PzDB now has a new interface using the Microsoft Office Ribbon tool bar which replaces the Main Menu. What was once the “Main Browser” window is now simply the PzDB Window and is on screen at all times. The command buttons from the old Main Browser have been moved to the new Ribbons, and the whole program is cleaner looking as a result.

Also we have now introduced a common interface for adding and removing Items to and from Groups and for adding and removing Keywords to and from Items. And we’ve added Document Icons to the thumbnail images in the Search results. These help you identify what kind of file it is.

PzDB’s new Browser History eliminates repeated searches. Just click the Back button, or pick any previous search from the dropdown list.
